Wedding FAQ: Bergstaff Place, Fort Wayne

Planning a wedding at Bergstaff Place, the all-inclusive wedding and reception venue in a restored Fort Wayne brewery? Here are straight answers to the questions couples ask first, from capacity and pricing to catering, the bar and what happens if it rains.

How many guests does Bergstaff Place hold?

The 4,000 sq. ft. open “loft” banquet space seats 25 to 300 guests, with a dance floor included.

How far in advance should we book?

Plan on reserving about 12 months ahead, or closer to 18 months if your date can’t move. May, June, September and October fill first. February has the softest demand and the most room to negotiate.

How much does a wedding at Bergstaff Place cost?

Room rental is $750 Sunday through Thursday and $1,700 Friday and Saturday. All-inclusive packages are $58.75 (Silver), $77.75 (Gold) or $99.75 (Diamond) per guest, with a 150-guest minimum. All prices are subject to a 20% administrative fee and applicable taxes.

What’s the difference between the three all-inclusive packages?

Each one bundles the banquet service, décor, staff, bar and dinner. Silver has a two-entrée buffet, unlimited house draft beer and house wine, and Grade 1 centerpieces. Gold (our most booked) adds a carved buffet or plated dinner, unlimited house brand liquor, and Grade 3 centerpieces. Diamond adds prime rib and herb-stuffed leg of lamb, unlimited call brand liquor, white chair covers and sashes, and Grade 5 centerpieces with a bridal table backdrop.

Who does the catering, and what are the food options?

Every wedding here is catered by Ceruti’s, the Fort Wayne catering family that has served the area since the early 1950s. The kitchen, bartenders and banquet staff are all in-house, so it’s one team from menu planning to the last dance. Food comes in one of two ways. All-inclusive packages start with hot or cold hors d’oeuvres, followed by a buffet or plated dinner. Silver has a two-entrée buffet with starch, vegetable, salad and bread. Gold has an elegant carved buffet (honey baked ham, brisket, strip loin) or a plated dinner with up to three entrées. Diamond adds butler-passed hors d’oeuvres and a station, with a carved buffet including prime rib and herb-stuffed leg of lamb, or a plated meal with beef, fish and vegetarian choices. With room rental only, food and beverage are quoted separately and you plan the menu with your event consultant.

What does the room rental include?

Up to five hours of event time, room set-up and clean-up, and tables and chairs. Food, beverage and décor are quoted separately or bundled into a package. The venue also includes china, silverware, linens, free Wi-Fi and a private coatroom.

Do we need to be in a package, or can we build our own?

Either works. Packages bundle everything at a per-guest price, or you can rent the room and design the menu, bar and décor with your consultant.

Is a deposit required?

Yes. A deposit reserves both the room and the catering. Your pricing is locked in once a catering contract is signed.

Do you provide the bar?

Yes. Ceruti’s is state-licensed to serve beer, wine and mixed drinks, and our own bartenders work your event. Packages range from unlimited draft beer and house wine up to unlimited call brand liquor.

Can we have an outdoor ceremony?

Yes. The seasonal patio has soft faux gas lighting and doubles as an easy cocktail-hour space. Patio availability is seasonal and weather dependent, so ask your consultant which dates it’s open.

What if it rains?

The indoor room is already reserved for you, so the backup plan is simply the room you booked. There’s no tent to cancel and no deposit at risk.

Can we decorate through Ceruti’s?

Yes. Full-service wedding decorating is available, covering centerpieces, bouquets and ceremony décor. Choose one of three décor packages (Pearl, Emerald or Ruby) or design something from scratch with our consultant.

Do you make wedding cakes?

We don’t bake cakes, so you’re free to use the baker you want. We cut and serve it at no additional charge.

Is there parking?

Yes, free off-street parking, plus a private coatroom and restrooms for your guests.

How does the planning process work?

It takes three steps. First, tell us your date and we check availability and walk the room with you. Second, design and budget together: event design, menu planning, room layout, budget and a site inspection happen in one sitting with the people who will run your day. Third, put it in writing: a deposit holds the room and catering, and a signed contract locks your prices. Call (260) 207-2020 or request the free brochure to get started.
